Recent recovery and future prospects of the northeast Atlantic halibut stock

Atlantic halibut in the northeast Atlantic have long been exploited, and Norway now hosts the only targeted fishery, with the main stock north of 62°N recently assessed using model-based survey data. The stock shows recovery but current landings may be unsustainable, highlighting the need for careful management of this long-lived species.
FishPoll – a serious game about sharing moving fish stocks under climate change

Climate change is shifting fish stocks and complicating transboundary quota negotiations, often leading to geopolitical conflict and unsustainable management. To address this, FishPoll is a serious-game simulation that lets participants role-play coastal states, negotiate quotas under changing ecological conditions, and explore the consequences of failing to reach consensus – enhancing understanding, collaboration, and policy dialogue.
