MeCCAM at the Nordic Climate Change Forum

MeCCAM took part in Session 3 of the Nordic Climate Change Forum, organised by the Nordic Marine Think Tank, which brought together around 45 participants from across the Nordic region. The session focused on climate change and fisheries, creating space for exchange between researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives.

During the session, MeCCAM’s project coordinator, Unn Laksá, shared key insights from the project’s work, highlighting the importance of climate-aware fisheries and evidence-based decision-making. Her contribution sparked thoughtful questions and fed into a lively panel discussion moderated by Dorothy Dankel.

Discussions at the forum underlined the growing importance of collaboration and data-driven approaches to support fisheries in adapting to climate change. Exchanges like these are essential for strengthening dialogue across sectors and for advancing more resilient and sustainable fisheries in the Nordic region.
